Symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse
Some women have no symptoms of pelvic organ prolapse, but discover a
prolapse during a routine gynecological exam. Most of the forms of
prolapse share symptoms and many times one form of prolapse is
accompanied by another, so the symptoms are listed together.
Urinary
incontinence (leaking)
A heavy feeling in the vagina
A feeling of something being “in there”
A noticeable bulge near the opening of the vagina
Low back ache or pain
Pelvic ache or pain
Abdominal ache or pain
Pain with sex
Lack of sensation during sex
Difficulty in penetration during sex
Frequent or urgent need to urinate
Difficulty urinating or emptying bladder completely
