Rectocele
(Back vaginal wall)
Rectocele is the prolapse of the rectum
or a portion of the large intestine into the vaginal wall. Rectocele
may cause difficulty defecating, an inability to defecate, or a bulge
near the vaginal opening. The rectum itself does not enter the vagina,
nor can it fall out of the body. A severe prolapse may protrude
outside the vaginal opening. Rectocele often occurs with other types
if prolapse.
