Cystocele or urethrocele
(Front vaginal wall)
Cystocele is also known
as prolapse of the bladder into the vaginal wall. Urethrocele is
prolapse of the urethra. Many doctors have stopped using the term
urethrocele, however, and consider it a cystocele further down the
neck of the bladder. Cystocele is the most common form of prolapse and
can cause incontinence, trouble urinating and a noticeable bulge near
the vaginal opening. The bladder itself does not enter the vagina, nor
can it fall out of the body. A severe prolapse may protrude outside
the vaginal opening. |
